He needs to sleep, but there's something on his mind. He's too restless to stay lying down for long, so he's taken to wandering the moonlit streets of Recollé, simultaneously trying to think about a solution to his problem and trying to block the problem out of his mind completely.

Is this guilt? Maybe this is what guilt feels like. He can deal with getting punched, yelled at, or scolded, but Yato does not like feeling guilty. He has to do something about it, or else he'll be up all night...

Yuuko is mad at Yato. Because he stole her first kiss? Yato gets that. That's fine. He deserves that. And he's been wracking his brain over what he can do to make the situation marginally less bad. So here's the breakdown:

What is the source of Yuuko's distress? >> Her fairy tale romantic love love first kiss is gone forever.

Who did she want to share it with? >> Mikoto, her current crush and partner in awkward almost-romance. Mikoto is just as pure and fresh as Yuuko is (was?), so she probably saw him as the perfect Prince Charming to share her first kiss with.

And now, moving forward? >> Yuuko might be afraid that her first kiss with Mikoto will feel incongruent, because she's been ruined by Yato while Mikoto is still pure and virginal. What's more, Mikoto might feel threatened once he finds out what happened -- or worse, he might even question Yuuko.

Yato can't turn back time. But he can level the playing field.

His expression is dead serious as he grabs Mikoto by the shirtfront and leans in to kiss him. ]

[There were a lot of things Mikoto was expecting when Yato showed up at his doorstep. One, he was either going to storm into his house and steal his food. Two, he was was here to brag about spending more time with Anya than he did. Or even three, tell him about a shady dude breaking into his shop and some how cause another fire to happen.

Despite his friendship with Yato over the years, he absolutely did not expect this and nothing could begin to prepare him for this.

He doesn't even move. Mikoto's standing there, in complete and total shock. It takes him a while to even feel the kiss because he's that stunned. When it finally dawns on him that oh my god. Someone is kissing me, he immediately shoves Yato away from him and grabs him by the shirtfront.]

[He's completely incoherent, and he didn't want to believe that this seriously just happened. Not only that, his face was red from the embarrasment and anger.]

[While he's been slowly coming to terms that he's beginning to develop feelings for Yuuko. He never really thought too much about his first kiss. The idea of kissing someone was far too embarrassing for him to comprehend.
